bomen iconSinds 2009 plant Ondernemers Zonder Grenzen (OZG) agrobossen in de Sahel op gedegradeerde grond om verwoestijning door klimaatverandering tegen te gaan. Het beboste gebied is al meer dan 500 voetbalvelden groot (200.000 bomen) en de intentie is dit aantal, vanaf 2013, jaarlijks te doen aangroeien met 1250 (500.000 bomen per jaar)! Deze doelstelling kadert in het project van de Wereldbank voor een beter klimaat: "De Grote Groene Muur", van west naar oost, dwars door Afrika (7200km lang en 15 km breed). De veranderingen die deze bossen teweeg brengen zijn immens...
